LOVE WHERE YOU LIVE // SPOTLIGHT: Finnieston

Since moving to Glasgow from Canada 12 years ago, we have lived all over Glasgow: from Maryhill to Hillhead to Govan to yes, even Finnieston; we lived in Finnieston before it was named the hippest place in Britain. When we lived in Finnieston there certainly wasn't anywhere near as many bars/ pubs/ restaurants/ shops as there is now. We liked living in the area because the rent was reasonable and it was halfway between the West end and city centre. Back then you had the option of The Big Slope for drinks and food, Fanny Trollopes and Mother India for a nice meal, The Grove and Ben Nevis for decent pubs and MacCallums for lovely fresh fish (now Wilson's Catch of the...

Scotland: Best Junk Food in the World

One of the best things to do when visiting a foreign country is take a trip down their junk food aisle. Surely I'm not the only one who loves to do this? This Black Friday We're Doing Something a Little Bit Different...

Are you a bit like us and get annoyed at arbitrary artificial things like "National Coffee Day"? Don't get us wrong - we love coffee. LOVE IT. But we're not really fans of forced participation and following others. Yes, we love deals like everyone else and yes, of course, we want people to purchase our products. But not in an overly-commercialised hurried manner. We want LAKE&LOCH to be a place where you can drop by, check out our items and maybe even read about a new place to get coffee in your bit. Or maybe just send us an email with a question or suggestion. We like engaging with people, which is why you'll often find us at markets (probably talking...
