All our candles at LAKE&LOCH are made using 100% natural vegetable-based wax. A mixture of soy and rapeseed, the wax is environmentally-friendly, sustainable and made from renewable sources. Unlike paraffin wax, which is derived from crude oil, it is also a lot easier to clean up.
Another benefit of vegetable-based wax is a longer burn time than paraffin wax. Our Camping Mug Candles have a burn time of 45 to 50 hours on average. Candles made with natural wax, however, tend not to generate the same scent throw as candles made using paraffin wax. To avoid this, we cure our candles for a week to ensure maximum potency and allow the wax crystals to settle.
For best results, always allow the candle wax to melt to the edges of the container as this will prevent the wax from tunnelling and allow a more even burn. Do not burn a candle for more than 4 hours at a time and always trim the wick about 1/4 of an inch before each use.
And finally, the usual run down:
- Always keep a burning candle within sight. Never leave your candle unattended and never move a burning candle.
- Keep burning candles away from anything flammable.
- Keep candles out of the reach of children and pets.
